LADIES IN RETIREMENT Reviews

"Èrin Geraghty perfectly portrayed a deranged woman"

........."the play is dominated by Érin Geraghty as Ellen, all buttoned-up frustration as she attempts the impossible task of balancing loyalty and necessity, caring and preserving...."

MURDER MISTAKEN Reviews

"Highlight, though, was poor old Emmie, the much put-upon, rather simple old maid, played by Erin Geraghty. She brought a bit of humour and much sympathy, but I’d have liked to see her get her own back somehow."

"But Erin Geraghty almost steals the limelight as simple, over-worked, doddery maid Emmie, who is repeatedly told by Bare to “Toddle Emmie, toddle"

BUSYBODY reviews

"Érin Geraghty is magnificent as the busybody cleaner. Her timing is spot on as she delivers every laugh in the script perfectly in a matter of fact, natural way. No fuss, no jokes, no slapstick - just a clever script and immaculate timing."

"………….played endearingly and with good comic timing by Erin Geraghty."

"……………………played superbly by Erin Geraghty"

"Erin Geraghty, in the title role, who carries the show’s success. She has lots to say & do & did so faultlessly on the first night."

"Erin Geraghty as Mrs Piper is thoroughly endearing."

SNAPSHOTS reviews

"...This play is truly enhanced by the gifted UK star
Erin Geraghty … Her compelling storytelling ability.."
**** Winnipeg Free Press

"...You can't go wrong with Snapshots."

**** Uptown Magazine

"...It's an emotional, comic, and compelling show that owes it's
impact to the powerhouse acting of Erin Geraghty....The material is
good, but in the hands of Geraghty, it shines. Her honest,
passionate and well-paced performance made her character's search
for meaning in life ring true."
****Jenny Garbuch for The Star Phoenix

".... A "Must See"....
Bill Robertson for CBC Regina

Erin Geraghty brings her prodigious acting talents this year in "Snapshots", a play that attempts "to figure out what makes a life". Geraghty's character (in the play she's an actor of much talent and too little employment who "works the pub and theatre circuit") does a fine job in both telling and elaborating those stories. Geraghty is wonderful to watch and her inhabitation of both women in this tastefully directed play is inspiring. If you were captivated by her previous appearances in plays, like "A Time to go Walking" and "Kama Sutra", then you will be equally impressed with the passionate dignity of her performance in Snapshots" It's a quiet play that seems as real as life itself, only better. Much better.
ROB ENRIGHT for CBC WINNIPEG

"SNAPSHOTS A TRUE KODAK MOMENT"
Thank God for Slainte Productions, Nick Wood and Erin Geraghty. Wood is the author and Geraghty the sole performer of this tightly written one-act work. The protagonist, an Irish actor working in London, sits by the seaside in Torquay with a gas station bouquet on the bench beside her.
Geraghty is one of those actresses who raises the bar for every show by her mere presence. She's skilful, polished and very intense - she telegraphs the joy she takes in her work. Geraghty could do a one-woman show on the moon, and it would still carry.
**** - DOUG BEAZLEY for THE EDMONTON SUN

'Using a winning combination of loopy charm and wry humour,
Geraghty sends a life affirming, if bittersweet message.'

Ladies That Walk
Review

"Walk this way for an alternative play"
"Érin Geraghty, who plays the inveterate village dog-walker Margaret (a self-professed "nosey cow") is an expert storyteller. Her flair for honesty filled the stage with the characters of her life, while her casual intimacy made the audience feel as if she were addressing us individually - also a design of Marshall's script." "Geraghty presents Margaret as a busybody whose natural state is a mix of curiosity and indignation. She also pulls no punches in her commentary." "The plot does not overburden itself. Margaret follows the village gossip in the same way one might follow The Archers or Eastenders. If it fails to distract her from her own problems, it at least makes them look meagre by comparison. But the catch is that Margaret's hobby sometimes succeeds too well." "Ladies That Walk succeeds on several levels - as a mild social comedy, as a one-actress play, and as a touring village show - and it is worth seeing. But its main achievement above all these is the capitalising on the humorous notion that dog owners are indeed a unique breed."
